Incorporating Typographic Art Into Your Home
On March 21st, we celebrate World Poetry Day. In honour of that, we wanted to take a look at using typography in your home to enhance your space and bring some of the things that really matter to you to the forefront of your home.
From the time that we’re children, language plays a huge role in who we are and what we become: from having stories told to us, to reading, and to speaking with others, there are pieces of language that become ingrained in our lives. Now we can bring those treasured pieces of literature and those words to life in our homes through our decoration.
For many, our homes are a reflection of who we are: we want our homes to be an extension of our personalities and to really show off who we are.
If you’ve taken a look at our kitchen organization blog, you’ll have seen this example before: A plain wall taken to a new level with the addition of a family recipe on display. This is an ideal homage to someone in your family and to the time you’ve spent together in the kitchen.

What about taking your favourite quote from a book and putting it on a lampshade? Or a pillow? Or framing it and hanging it on your wall?

If you don’t have a favourite book to quote, you can always add typography in other ways.
For a more contemporary design use individual letters or numbers to create an entirely different aesthetic gallery wall feel.

If all else fails, you can always bring a warm welcome right to the people who come to visit with this very friendly welcome mat.

The possibilities are endless for including decoration that uses quotes, numbers, and words into your space. Not only are you really explaining who you are and some of the intricacies of your personality, but you’re adding incredible aesthetic value to your home.
