4 Simple Rules to Create a Stunning Gallery Wall
The first thing people notice when walking into a room is, the walls. What’s on those walls can strike a conversation and bring the room to life. A gallery wall is a collection of art, photos, and various items that have sentimental meaning behind them. We’re not going to sugarcoat it, gallery walls are hard to create, so hard, infact, that art consultants are paid to come into people’s homes to arrange their art, and stores are now selling frame kits. After looking up gallery wall inspirations, we’ve discovered that a more organic and eclectic arrangement of art makes a bolder statement. We’ve gathered up four tips to use when creating your very own gallery wall at home.

Your Gallery Wall
This gallery wall is reflective on your home and your personality. Choose items you love to make the entire gallery meaningful to you. For a more cohesive feel, use pieces that have at least one thing in common; find a theme and stick with it.

Plan Ahead
The best way to plan out how your gallery wall will look, is to cut pieces of craft paper the size of each of your frames and tape them to the wall with painter's tape. This will give a great visual of how your gallery wall will look without any unnecessary holes in the drywall.

Anchor the Wall with One Larger Piece
Having a wall full of a lot of smaller pieces will get too cluttered. Anchor your gallery wall by starting with one large piece and work outwards. Choose different sized shapes, smaller than your anchor piece.

Use Different Frames
The key is to have some consistency to make sure your gallery wall doesn’t look dated and cluttered.
- Use a variety of shaped and sized frames, mix traditional with modern, square with round and framed with unframed
- Use similar imagery that flows with the colour pallet of your room
- Use different mediums of art; oil painting, original photography, prints, abstract drawing, pen drawings, Polaroids or collages
